Mel is a New Zealand based line producer with over 150 screen time hours over her 20-year career. She has held a broad range of roles crossing over both feature and TV mediums but amassing a body of work firmly immersed in physical production for almost exclusively international film & TV projects and is well respected and recognised in her field.
Known for her work on Al Gough & Miles Millar's TV Series The Shannara Chronicles (2017), Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell & Sam Raimi's TV Series Ash vs Evil Dead (2015, 2016), Rob Tapert & Sam Raimi's TV Series Spartacus (2009-2012), and Peter Jackson's feature trilogy Lord of the Rings (2001-2003). Mel is also credited for work on Nikki Caro's feature The Vintner's Luck (2009), Jay Russell's feature The Water Horse (2007), Peter Jackson's feature King Kong (2005), black comedy feature The Big White (2003), and the BBC Tele-Feature The Lost World (2002).
Fiercely dedicated to achieving exceptional results on and off the screen, Mel believes putting together a great team with well considered and thorough planning will generate the best environment for adaptability and is fundamental to achieving successful outcomes.
Co-FOUNDER - producer / First Assistant director
With a career in the film industry spanning over three decades, Axel is a New Zealand based first assistant director and most recently an associate producer and consulting producer for international film and TV dramas and indie feature films. With over 200 screen hours Axel has a proven track record.
Axel has worked alongside a number of international talent such as Al Gough & Miles Millar on The Shannara Chronicles (2017), Rob Tapert & Sam Raimi on Ash vs Evil Dead (2015, 2016) and Spartacus (2009-2012), director Taika Waititi on Eagle vs Shark (2007), and Peter Jackson on Heavenly Creatures (1994). He has also worked with notable actors Michael Fassbender, Ben Mendelsohn, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Margot Robbie, Chris Pine, Rhys Ifans, Kate Winslet, and Melanie Lynskey.
One of Axel’s greatest strengths is his ability to foster and maintain a rapport with cast, crew, directors, and production alike. The collaborative energy required to make a production hum is something Axel really enjoys promoting and his knack for creating that energy has made him integral to the projects he has been a part of.
